Our cuties - Galloway cows.
Our farm also raises Galloway beef cattle. This is an ancient breed originating in Scotland. Their distinctive features include the lack of horns and the long hair on their fur. The animals are highly resistant to disease and low temperatures and can remain outdoors year-round. A shelter that protects them from rain and wind is all they need. They are not demanding in terms of nutrition. In summer, they thrive on meadows and weaker grasses (which other domestic animals shun). In winter, they need hay and constant access to water.
